PRIVATE CLIENT SERVICES

WILLS
It is important that you have an up to date will reflecting your wishes. We can also advise on the ways to avoid Nursing Home Fees and Inheritance Tax when making your will, often through using a trust.
If any local Client has difficulty accessing our offices on the second floor, we make home visits at no extra charge. We have great experience in visiting elderly or sick Clients either at home or in a nursing home or even if necessary in hospital, at the most convenient time for the Client, even if that is in the evening or at the weekend.
LASTING POWERS OF ATTORNEY (LPAs)
Since October 2007 you can sign an LPA document for your Property and Financial Affairs and/or for your Health and Welfare. An LPA document appoints one or more Attorneys to manage your affairs and make decisions on your behalf if you became physically and/or mentally incapacitated. It is especially important for Clients who are post retirement age to set up an LPA.
PROBATE & ESTATE ADMINISTRATION
Probate is the Court document which is required to deal with most assets (eg bank accounts, shares, property) after someone has died. We know how difficult it can be when a relative or close friend dies, and can offer an extremely supportive service which will relieve you of the legal, tax and administrative burdens.
Our pricing is extremely competitive and depends upon what exactly you want us to do. We are happy to have an initial free no obligation meeting to see if we can help. We fully appreciate that some Clients want to try to deal with as much as possible themselves, and may only require a limited amount of technical advice from us. Other Clients often want us to deal with all the paperwork and financial management of an estate from start to finish, relying on our great experience and expertise so that everything goes smoothly. As part of this service we provide a completely free banking service to all our Clients when cashing in assets and paying liabilities from an estate.
We regularly save thousands of pounds in tax, as well as advising on opportunities for tax and succession planning arising during the course of administering an estate.
TRUSTS and TAX
Trusts can be set up in Wills, as mentioned above. They can also be set up while you are still living, often for tax, succession and asset protection reasons. Virtually any asset can be held in a Trust including property, cash, insurance policies and investments. We have great experience and expertise in setting up all kinds of different Trusts, as they invariably need to be tailor made to meet each clients individual needs and objectives.
